I am a PhD student in the SPADS doctoral program co-supervised by Prof. Michael Mistry (University of Edinburgh) and Prof. Carlos Mastalli (Heriot-Watt University).

My background is at the intersection of applied mathematics, computer science, and theoretical physics with an MSc. in Computer Graphics, Multimedia, and Virtual Reality from Politehnica University of Bucharest, an MSc. in Scientific Computing from Heidelberg University, and a BSc. in Informatics from the University of Bucharest.

Previously, I worked, among others, on projects involving computer graphics, physics-based animation, robotics, as well as multi-body dynamics, molecular dynamics, and compiler design. Currently, my interests lie at the crossroads of mathematical optimization, optimal control, ML, multi-body dynamics, theoretical mechanics, and SLAM with applications in loco-manipulation for legged robots.

The topic of my PhD is in Robotics (Simulation, Optimal Control / RL, Optimization) and my doctoral project focuses on enhancing loco-manipulation tasks for surveillance in unstructured, hostile environments.
